--------
NASA Research Park will host a free, open-to-the-public lecture, "Packing for Mars:
Challenges and Oddities of a Human Mission to Mars," on May 3 in Bldg. 3 Ballroom at
7 p.m. This will be the fourteenth lecture in the NRP Lecture Series, whose purpose is
to showcase the topic of exploration, both in space and on Earth. The Lecture features
Dr. Pascal Lee, Planetary Scientist at the Mars and SETI Institutes, and Mary Roach,
author of the recent bestseller "Packing for Mars." Dr. Chris McKay will MC the lecture.
Roach’s book, on which she will base the talk, delves into the human and sometimes
humorous, aspects of space travel, rich with details and space-flight curiosities. Her prior
books include “Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers” and “Spook: Science Tackles
the Afterlife.”

All one needs is a valid driver's license to get to Bldg. 3... I'm likely to go, if anyone's interested in joining me there (or for dinner afterwards).
