Heading over to Devon Island this afternoon

Depending on how soon (or if...) we can get satellite IP service up from Haughton Crater, this may be my last post for awhile. The weather is good, mostly clear with light winds and 42F, and the first Twin Otter of the day (with the four CSA greenhouse guys and our wayward drill Z-stage box) have just departed for HMP base camp. When it returns in a couple of hours, we will load our 1600 lbs of gear and ourselves after lunch and head over ...

Given an arrival around 3pm, it will take a couple of hours to get personal tents up and basecamp gear unpacked. After dinner, I'm planning to either help complierbitch with the Ka-band satellite ground station, or reconnoiter the route to Drill Hill as regards transporting our gear there on ATV trailers, likely tomorrow (if the weather holds good). If all goes well, by Tuesday or Wednesday we will be drilling and have full communications.
