Labor Day weekend... social, offspring to college, new foods

I had a date Thursday with cyan_blue, Friday went with patgreene to see "The Help", Saturday went to dangerpudding's housewarming/Krissy's birthday party in Fremont, then hung out with a friend Y in Santa Clara that night.

Sunday at 6am James barely made his SFO flight back East... he told me to turn around at 5am, when halfway to SFO, as he'd been called a few hours earlier and told that he'd, hm, left his wallet at a party. I refrained from asking what kind of party... that cost 25min, and he'd left his boarding passes at home. We ran into the terminal (Pat came and circled, so we saved minutes not parking), over to Delta's priority service line, and James got checked in one minute before the pre-30-min cutoff.

After a nap, Sunday afternoon I worked on repairing the sprinkler system, Sunday night I had a date with dawnd, helped her with painting her spare room, Monday I cooked an afternoon BBQ at home with the remaining kids and Pat and Geri, then went hiking at Arastradero Preserve with cyan_blue, then dinner with dangerpudding (my first experience with Korean BBQ), found and sent financial documents to James, and checked about my sister's tornado damage back in Georgia. Whew.

This week has been lower key, other than I have been on a streak of three consecutive cancelled lunches by various folks. Lots of proposal work, and planning for the next two weeks of drill testing, down south in Pasadena.
